3 Tips to Learn English Faster Online Anywhere

In 2009, two Cornell University psychologists, Justin Kruger and David Dunning, published a paper entitled “Unskilled and unaware of it: how difficulties in recognizing one’s own incompetence lead to inflated self-assessments. “
People with low English language ability frequently overestimate their ability.
This trend has been consistently observed in many psychological studies and it is referred to as the better-than-average effect. Even people who score far below average (at the bottom 10%) imagine that they are above average, until they receive their actual test scores. Even after taking a test, they imagine they scored above average, while the actual test score places them far below average. The better-than-average effect provides evidence that people, in general, have unrealistic positive images of themselves compared to their peers (Alicke, Klotz, Breitenbecher,Yurak, & Vredenburg, 1995).
If you are unsure of your English skills in the classroom ,then your reluctance to practice English in the classroom will be an obstacle to learn English fast.

Active learning is superior to lecture alone to learn English fast: higher test scores achieved with less class time.
Active learning involves students working in pairs or larger groups. (for a comprehensive review, see Davidson, Major, & Michaelsen, 2014). Such groups can range from as few as two members in the simple think-pair-share strategy
In one case, 300+ students were divided into two groups.
Group 1 attended class 3 times per week in a standard classroom with a teacher.
Group 2 attended class 1 time per week in an active learning group classroom with the same teacher.
The Active learning group which met one time per week scored higher on the same standardized test than the group which met 3 times per week.

Students who have tried and failed to learn English in a lecture class can be successful learning English in an Active English classroom.

A 33% increase in reaching goals was obtained when progress reports on reaching the goal were shared with friends, according to a recent study.
The study group of 267 people from all parts of the world was divided into 5 groups as shown in the chart below.
The least successful group, the Unwritten Goals group reached their goals 43% of the time.
The most successful group, the Share Progress with a Friend group reached their goals 76% of the time.
Share Progress Reports with friends was the most successful with Committment, Accountability and Written Goals.
The most successful group, the Share Progress with a Friend group showed a 76% rate of reaching their goals, a 33% increase over the Unwritten Goals group. The Share Progress with a Friend group was able to profit from Written Goals, Commitment and Accountability by sharing the progress with a friend. By sharing your progress toward learning English with friends, you can also profit from this 76% success rate of having Written Goals, Commitment and Accountability.
