( Dunning–Kruger effect)
Take an English Test online to discover your current English ability. This will ensure the English Course you choose is the right English level for you to build on your current English knowledge and learn English online faster anywhere.
In 2009, two Cornell University psychologists, Justin Kruger and David Dunning, published a paper entitled “Unskilled and unaware of it: how difficulties in recognizing one’s own incompetence lead to inflated self-assessments. “
People with low English language ability frequently overestimate their ability.
This trend has been consistently observed in many psychological studies and it is referred to as the better-than-average effect. Even people who score far below average (at the bottom 10%) imagine that they are above average, until they receive their actual test scores. Even after taking a test, they imagine they scored above average, while the actual test score places them far below average. The better-than-average effect provides evidence that people, in general, have unrealistic positive images of themselves compared to their peers (Alicke, Klotz, Breitenbecher,Yurak, & Vredenburg, 1995).
